Manning Intermediate School is set in a park like setting with entrances off Hoon Hay Road (Reception) and Mathers Road.

A new administration area and hall opened in 2011. The hall is a state of the art multi-purpose facility. High quality audio visual equipment and lighting makes it suitable for stage performances, large meetings or for Basketball, Volleyball, Badminton, Netball and a wide range of other activities. Physical Education resources are extensive including Table Tennis and Indoor Bowls equipment.


The main classroom block has recently been upgraded. The classrooms have been modernised with a new colour palette, new carpets, joinery and upgraded IT infrastructure. The classrooms even have internal water fountains. All students have access to a personal locker in the ground floor or 1st floor corridors.

A modern IT suite (2011) compliments IT resources available in classrooms. The school is part of the ENABLE fibre network, giving us very high speed access to the digital world.

The school library is in the process of being upgraded in 2011 and holds a range of quaity books and  a small IT suite.

A  combined Science/Technology room enabling the easy overlap of science and technology programmes. Specialist facilities are available for hard materials technology, foods (upgraded in 2011), fabric, art and music (an additional $10 000 worth of musical instruments added in 2011).

The buildings are fully accessible with lift access to the 1st floor and hall stage.

The school grounds are extensive with large planted areas. There are two basketball courts, two netball courts, an artificial cricket wicket, rugby and football grounds.

Ashphalt areas and some areas of the main field were damaged in the February 22, earthquake. These areas will be repaired or replaced in the near future.
