Students from outside New Zealand form an
important part of our school. We welcome students from a variety
of cultures as they add a great deal to our school life and help
broaden the horizons of our students. Christchurch is safe place
for children to come for their education, with quality schools
and community resources available to support most interests.
Manning Intermediate has a
very limited number of places for international students each
year. We prefer to have no more than two international students
in the same classroom. This allows for close interaction with
Kiwi (New Zealand) kids. All the opportunities that are
available to our New Zealand students are offered to our
international students and more.
We provide our international (non-english)
speaking students with an quality English language programme as
well as involving them in all aspects of education within
Manning Intermediate. We believe that English is best learnt in
an environment where opportunities for conversation in English
surrounds the student.
Accommodation needs to be organised by
families. Manning Intermediate School does not provide or
arrange accomodation. We do however monitor accomodation by
undertaking police checks of all adults in the house and
inspecting the home each term to ensure that it is a suitable
environment for the young person.
Manning Intermediate School is approved by
the Ministry of Education to provide programmes for
International Fee paying students.
